The nearest airport to Caixas is
Perpignan,
39 kilometres away, while
Gerona,
about 100 kilometres away in Spain, is very convenient with its multitude of Ryanair flights as well
as excellent road access and good car hire facilities.
Other airports such as
Carcassonne,
Montpellier,
Nimes,
Barcelona
and
Toulouse
are all within easy driving distance to Port-Vendres.
Ryanair has daily flights from Stansted to
Perpignan.
Flight time is approximately 1 hour 45 minutes.

NOTE:- Ryanair now has three or four flights daily from Stansted to Gerona. When booking on the Ryanair web site, look for "Girona (Barcelona)", as this is what Ryanair insist on calling Gerona - although the airport is 100 kilometers from Barcelona!
For cheaper car parking than the official Stansted site we have used
"Alternative Car Parking"
- they keep your car on a site about half a mile from the terminal and take you to the airport.
You phone them when you have got your luggage and they pick you up from the terminal. The service is better
than the normal car park, as well as cheaper. Their (mobile) telephone number is 07775 943601 and can be
hard to get a reply! They do not work on Thursdays, and are so succesful that they have a minimum charge.
They do not take credit cards!! For Thursday flights, call 01279 657410 for a similar service.
There is a direct train service from Birmingham to Stansted (calling at Nuneaton, Leicester,
Melton Mowbray, Oakham, etc). For Internet booking - see

Ryanair have now stopped using Birmingham Airport
for flights to
Gerona and have switched to East Midlands.
FlyBe have flights from Birmingham to
Perpignan
in their summer timetable (roughly end of March till end of October).

from East Midlands.

Barcelona
from Luton.
